edit: I remember reading Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes in 2nd grade and the story was the primary influence on this piece. It's an amazing story, highly recommended!

I love it love it love it! The whole thousandth paper crane thing always intrigued me. Funny though, I never thought about what to wish for; it was the ability to wish that was so special. I guess the story never completed in my mind since in the original legend the wish was left unwished for. But I really like the ending you've written!
