Artist's Comments
I've always admired (okay more like idolized) the works of Chen Shu Fen & Common [link] and Der Jen [link] and have wanted to draw the Avatar characters in the "Chinese Romance Novel" for a long time. I never did so because I felt that my skills weren't up to par. But one can't sharpen their skills if they don't practice, so I decided to go and try anyways.
I roughly referenced this photo [link] I didn't stick very close to the ref as I also referencing various bits of myself (via the mirror) as well. Toph and Avatar are copyright to Bryan Konietzko, Michael Dante DiMartino and Nickelodeon. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces.
